A native Houstonian and overall “really nice guy,” Jack is committed to serving his community. As the Chief of Orthopedics at Ben Taub hospital, he has worked to increase access to healthcare and improve patient outcomes for a population of patients who have very few resources. Jack is available to see patients at Ben Taub, Texas Children’s, Baylor St. Luke’s, and The Methodist Hospital. He has a huge breadth of experience, having treated over 6000 fractures in the past 7 years of practice. Jack attended Rice University for his undergraduate degree and then attended Baylor College of Medicine for his medical degree. He stayed at Baylor for his residency in Orthopedic Surgery and subsequently completed fellowships in orthopedic trauma at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga and the Leeds General Infirmary in Leeds, England. As the Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor, Jack is an integral part of training the next generation of orthopedic surgeons. He has also participated in and led multiple educational events for college and high school students. Jack is also involved in service abroad: he travels to Guatemala on an annual basis to perform complex fracture surgeries, and he is a regular contributor to the educational curriculum of a Guatemalan residency program.
