For instance, if you take the MOC Spine 89-Day Study Plan you will see it includes Spine A and Spine B Self-Assessment Exams. These are the same Spine A and Spine B Self-Assessment Exams listed above.

Course Description:

The Self-Assessment Exam (SAE) is designed to help surgeons in practice fulfill the ABOS Maintenance of Certification Life Long Learning & Self-Assessment requirement. As part of the ABOS Maintenance of Certification Life Long Learning & Self-Assessment requirements, orthopaedic surgeons are required to complete 120 CME credits of which 20 must be scored and recorded self-assessment examinations (SAE), for each 3 year cycle.

The results of the SAE should direct the participant toward areas of study that will lead to professional improvement.

Target Audience:
Practicing orthopaedic surgeons looking to obtain their annual SAE CME credit.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
a. Identify areas of study on which they should focus.
b. Evaluate specific knowledge gaps.
c. Identify performance strengths and weaknesses.
