A 55-year-old female smoker falls on icy pavement and has immediate shoulder pain and crepitus. She is seen in the ED and found to have a 4-part proximal humerus fracture. Open reduction and internal fixation is not thought to be feasible based on the fracture pattern, therefore, hemiarthroplasty is employed. On postoperative radiographs, the greater tuberosity is situated proximal to the level of the superior humeral head. What complication is this patient at increased risk for based on these findings?
