Open Floating Knee with Contralateral Closed Tibia Shaft Fx in 38F

HPI

A 38-year-old woman presents after being restrained driver in a motor vehicle collision. Here orthopaedic injuries are contained to her lower extremity and include: 1. RIGHT Closed distal intrarticular femur fracture. 2. RIGHT Type 2 open proximal tibia fracture, 3. LEFT Closed tibial shaft fracture.

PMH

She is otherwise healthy, and a nonsmoker.

PE

Vitals: HR 120s, BP 90s/60s, lactate 3.8 The patient is Alert and oriented x3. There is no head/neck, thoracic or abdominal trauma. She has a 4cm Open wound on the RIGHT medial proximal leg, which does not extend proximally over the knee joint. She is neuro intact BLE. Her Compartments are soft.
