It will be expected that you make the necessary changes to bring the question to final approval. This will be done on the "honor system". All error alerts must be cleared from an author's questions for them to qualify for revenue sharing. Adopting Questions $75 USD will be paid to authors who adopt questions and take them to final approval. Deputy editors are the only ones that have the authority to "adopt" a question to a new owner. Question Review (Approvals and Errors Alerts) $5 USD will be paid for reviewing a questions (approvals or error alerts). If there are no further L1 reviews needed, please do NOT add an error alert as your review Topics Updating Topics $75 USD will be paid for updating a topic. Creating New Topics $75 USD will be paid for creating a new topic A Deputy Editor must pre-authorize a topic to be created OR updated. Videos Embedding YouTube Videos $3 USD will be paid for linking to YouTube Videos that meet our educational criteria. Uploading Surgical Technique Videos $25 USD will be paid for uploading surgical technique videos on the Orthobullets platform. Images Criteria for uploading acceptable images Orthobullets author should make every effort to avoid copyright infringement whenever possible utilize images from your own personal cases or from your training avoid using images from major publishing companies unless permission has been requested/granted avoid using images that have been labeled as copyright protected Groups Learning Center Groups $200 USD will be paid for creating and moderating a Learning Center Group once it reaches "critical mass". "critical mass" will be defined as > 30 group members > 50 comments by non-author members > 5 authors cases > 5 member cases Public Member Comments Reimbursement for Public Comment $10 USD will be paid for publicly responding the member comments please respond on behalf of the company, and not TO the company on behalf of other members be sure that your response if accurate before posting or feel free to ping a more senior author Comment must meet Educational Criteria to be reimbursed Educational criteria include: the public comment is a response to a non-author member comment or question the comment directly answers/addresses the issue raised by the member and should contain 3-4 lines of text. the comment includes an appropriate scientific reference which is inserted in the comment in proper format we provide a two-liner of the reference, explaining a) the type of study and the important findings 2) the clinical impact or clinical recommendations of the authors Monthly Cap $1000 Monthly Cap a monthly cap of $1000 will be imposed (subject to change monthly) we believe this will optimize productivity, quality, and fiscal responsibility. bonuses will be given above the cap based on criteria below. Monthly Bonus Monthly bonuses will be given based on: outstanding effort to promote the professional network and mature physician features outstanding effort to maintain high quality content outstanding effort to support and guide the junior authors working above and beyond the monthly cap availability of resources Level 1 Monthly Contribution Level 1 MINIMUM Contribution $200 minimum contribution per month required to maintain L1 status and to remain on payroll This is essential to ensuring continued productivity and growth of the company Rules of engagement Do NOT claim or start more than 2 questions at one time You may start more than 2 ONLY once these have been submitted for review The first 5 questions MUST be from different topics (trauma, peds, S&E, etc.) After the minimum has been reached, you are free to duplicate topics Quality control You MUST download Grammerly prior to pasting in the browser window Review process Once a question is complete and ready for review, it is the responsibility of the author to ask up to four L1 authors to review Make sure to tag them in the dropdown menu ("Direct Comment to:") so that they are messaged to review, otherwise they will not see it Requests for reviews are VOID after 72 hours i.e. If I ask John to review a question and 3 days pass but he still hasn't responded, it is fair game to ask another L1 author to review ONLY after three L1 reviews are complete, then the author should ask up to two active L2 author who specialized on THAT TOPIC to review i.e. Once three L1 reviews are completed for a hand question, the author can then ask Dr. John Dunn (L2) and Dr. Mark Vitale (L2) to review The blue "Team" link near the "Direct Comment to:" menu in the comment box will display the categories of L2 authors by subspecialty DO NOT ask more authors to review if there is an active error alert, as this will block them DO NOT ask L3 authors for review, this will be managed separately, your job it to get three L1 and two L2 approvals ONLY IF there are ANY issues with authors responsiveness, please let me know and I will facilitate the review process personally (message Ben Sharareh) Error alerts and etiquette Authors MUST address L1-3 reviewer comments within 24 hours or question ownership may be subject to review Please NO squatting. i.e do NOT claim questions only to sit on them all month If you claim a question, it is expected that you should push that question along to completion within the month, if not within 1-2 weeks ideally **You will NOT get paid if you have 3 outstanding Error alerts** The priority is to CLEAR the EAs before writing/reviewing/commenting Failure to comply May result in deduction of question/review compensation from your monthly total May result in remediation with additional restrictions on authorship May result in disqualification as an Orthobullets author Any extenuating circumstances (very busy rotation, personal travel, etc.) must be communicated to me (Ben Sharareh) to allow for case-by-case exceptions in advance Orthobullets reserves the right to modify payment at any time.
