You are performing an anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty on a 71-year-old female. Pre-operatively, you note there are several large osteophytes creating deformity along the inferomedial aspect of the humeral neck. During your approach, you attempt to perform an aggressive capsular release to maximize your exposure but the humeral neck osteophytes are obscuring the normal anatomy and making this process difficult.
