Biography

William Crawford, MD, is a foot and ankle specialist practicing at Texas Orthopaedic Associates, which has state-of-the-art offices near the Presbyterian Hospital campus in Dallas and clinics in Plano, Weatherford, Keller, and Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Crawford was raised in Fort Worth and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from The University of Texas at Austin, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Plan II honors curriculum and biology in 2006. He went on to graduate from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 2010. Following medical school, Dr. Crawford completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, followed by fellowship training in foot and ankle/lower extremity trauma at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, Florida. He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Crawford is the director of the foot and ankle rotation at the John Peter Smith Orthopaedic Surgical residency program. He is also a team physician for Texas Christian University and a consultant for the XFL. Dr. Crawford places a high priority on providing compassionate surgical and non-surgical treatments, with a focus on the foot and ankle. His comprehensive approach to foot and ankle care includes minimally-invasive surgeries, arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction, fracture care, post-traumatic reconstruction, and deformity correction to promote optimal healing, function, and mobility. When not caring for his patients, Dr. Crawford enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar and tennis, and following all things sports related. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He speaks fluent Spanish.
