Biography

Ben Kuhns was born in Chicago, Illinois. He spent his undergraduate years at Colgate University where he majored in chemistry with a minor in history. He then returned to Chicago where he received a Master's degree in Neuroscience from Northwestern before attending medical school in Cleveland, Ohio at Case Western Reserve University school of medicine. He developed an interest in hip preservation surgery in medical school during a research year and graduated with distinction in research after being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He continued to develop his passion for comprehensive hip care while in residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center and completed hip preservation and reconstruction fellowships at The Steadman Clinic and The American Hip Institute. He is currently the director of research and a comprehensive hip surgeon at the American Hip Institute.
