John "Yianni" Apostolakos is a Board Eligible Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in Sports Medicine. He is currently treating patients at University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH and holds a faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Apostolakos completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship at the prestigious Steadman Clinic/Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, CO. Prior to fellowship he trained and completed his orthopaedic residency at the renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Dr. Apostolakos specializes in sports medicine injuries of the shoulder, knee, hip, and elbow. His academic interests include: management of glenoid bone loss, recurrent glenohumeral instability, anatomic and reverse shoulder arthroplasty, rotator cuff pathologies, and cartilage preservation, among many others. Yianni also has a passion for teaching and mentorship and attributes much of his success to mentors Dr. Mazzocca and Dr. Arciero at the University of Connecticut. He hopes to pay it forward and teach/mentor the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.
