Biography

Dr. Sameh (Sam) A. Labib, Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, Emory University, is an experienced sports medicine surgeon at the Emory Sports Medicine Center and director of the Ankle and Foot service at Emory Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery since 1996 with additional subspecialty board certification in sports medicine surgery. Dr. labib joined Emory in 1999 after completing an orthopedic residency at the prestigious McGill University and additional 3 post graduate surgical fellowship in knee, ankle and foot surgery. His unique experience includes state of the art minimally invasive treatments of cartilage defects of the knee and ankle as well as complex reconstruction for joint preservation including cadaver tissue reconstruction of knee and ankle cartilage and bone defects. At Emory, Dr. Labib is the leading surgeon for joint preservation techniques such as corrective bone realignment (osteotomies), cartilage and bone reconstruction and ligament repair of the knee and ankle. As a sports medicine specialist, Dr. Labib serves as the Head team physician for Oglethorpe University athletics and Spellman College. Additionally, he is an orthopedic consultant for the Atlanta Falcons, Georgia Tech and Emory University. Dr. Labib is recognized nationally and internationally for his work in treatment of the knee, Ankle and foot problems in all athletes including professional and collegiate level athletes. For the past several years, Dr. Labib has been repeatedly nominated by his peers as one of “America’s Top Doctors” as chronicled by www.CastleConnelly.com.
