Dr. William Croom IV is originally from Florida and attended the University of California, Berkeley for his undergraduate degree in economics. He worked in health care consulting for several years in San Francisco before attending medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Croom also earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management during that time. He did his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Southern California and the Los Angeles County Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at Congress Orthopedic Associates in Pasadena. Dr. Croom's practice is focused on orthopedic sports medicine, including arthroscopic reconstructive surgeries of the shoulder, hip, and knee. In addition, he performs shoulder arthroplasty (replacement) and treats both operative and nonoperative fractures. While he is a surgeon, he always considers the full gamut of nonoperative treatments before considering surgical intervention, since many orthopedic conditions can be treated successfully without surgery.
