John grew up in Southern California before moving to Philadelphia for college where he studied Neurobiology and Healthcare Management. He returned to California for medical school and pursued a research year between his 3rd and 4th years focused on spine and international orthopedic trauma where he spent time in Tanzania. He chose Einstein for its strong sense of community among the residents and attendings, early and high volume of operative experience, and strong legacy of success of Einstein alumni. He enjoys surfing, basketball, cooking, and photography.
