Biography

Dr. Ken Mathis earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his internship at the University of Missouri in Columbia and his residency at Louisiana State University Medical School in Shreveport. This was followed by a fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Mathis has been in practice since 1992. He specializes in total joint reconstruction. Dr. Mathis serves as an associate professor in the department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Texas Orthopedic Association and the Houston Orthopedic Society. Additionally, he has received many recognitions and awards over the years, including the Patients’ Choice Award and the Compassionate Doctor Award.
