Biography

I grew up on Long Island, graduated from Jericho High School, and then went on to graduate Cum Laude from Dartmouth College. After that, I was accepted at NYU School of Medicine, graduated with honors, and I have been with NYU Langone ever since. I completed residency at the NYU Langone/Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Surgery Residency. I then went on to complete additional focused subspecialty training in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery. During my training I worked at multiple hospitals around New York City - performing elective surgery at the NYU Langone Hospitals and the Manhattan VA, and caring for some of the most severely injured trauma patients at Bellevue and Jamaica Hospitals. My training included focused experience in microsurgery and complex soft tissue reconstruction. I am a board certified, attending physician at NYU Langone Health in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, and an Assistant Professor at the NYU Long Island School of Medicine. I perform surgery primarily at the NYU Langone Surgery Center in Garden City, NY and NYU Langone Long Island (Winthrop) Hospital in Mineola, NY. I am excited to now take care of patients in the same community I grew up in. Every patient is unique - and my treatment philosophy centers on making sure you always have a full understanding of the nature of your injury/condition and all of the treatment options available. Only then can we have a nuanced discussion about the best option for you I believe that the best outcomes are achieved when patients and I work together to develop a program to maximize their recovery. Often, the best treatment option is straightforward and routine, including therapy, splints, and injections. At times, surgery will be the ideal option. Our mutual goal will be to get you back to your life and the activities that are most important to you, in as quick, safe, and predictable a way as possible. I am a member of several national specialty societies including the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). I have presented academic work at national and international conferences, and have published numerous journal articles and textbook chapters on topics including nerve lacerations, flexor tendon lacerations, elbow fractures, trigger finger, de Quevain’s tenosynovitis, and shoulder instability.
