2022 - Present: University Hospital Berlin Medical School at Helios Klinikum Berlin Buch Department of Orthopedics, Trauma and Hand Surgery (Consultant) Specialties: Trauma, Hand Surgery, Sports Medicine. Maximilian Heitmann performs his studies in Medicine at the University of Würzburg, Germany during the years 2004 to 2011. During is studies he gains experience abroad with internships in Portugal (University of Porto) and Switzerland (Luzern and Lugano). He starts his specialization in the Italian part of Switzerland (EOC Hospitals) and eventually finds a new private and professional home in Berlin, Germany. He gains further experience in the field of orthopedics and trauma at the Vivantes Humboldt Klinikum and his interest for polytrauma patients leads him to Helios Klinikum Berlin Buch in 2017. He specializes in orthopedics and trauma there. In 2021 he becomes senior physician (attending) at the University Hospital Charité in Berlin. There he specializes also in hand surgery. The newly founded University Hospital Berlin Medical School at Helios Klinikum Berlin Buch calls him as an attending in 2022. He is a specialist before the medical council of Germany in - trauma and orthopedics - hand surgery - sports medicine - emergency medicine. He speaks 5 languages (German, English, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish). His current fields of research include distal radius fractures, arthroplasty of the thumb and ankle fractures.
