Stan Dysart is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in Adult Reconstruction/total Joint Arthroplasty and sports medicine. He is on staff at Wellstar Health System and is the Medical Director for Adult Reconstruction at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center. His clinical and research interests are in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) and virtual and augmented reality in surgery. He has designed and implemented rapid recovery pathways resulting in reduction or elimination of opioid usage and improved patient outcomes in major orthopedic surgery. His work in VR has contributed to surgical education and improved patient outcomes. Stan’s orthopedic surgical residency was at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC and he completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has a subspecialty certification in sports medicine.
