Biography

Mark S. Myerson, M.D. is the renowned Orthopedic and Medical Director for The Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Myerson is one of the world's foremost experts on foot and ankle reconstruction and injury. He has pioneered surgical techniques that have revolutionised the diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of disorders of the foot and ankle. His outstanding knowledge of foot and ankle conditions means that he is the expert of choice for many elite athletes from the NFL, NBA, and European soccer leagues. Dr. Myerson is widely traveled and is a frequent guest speaker for numerous national and international organizations. He continues to spearhead groundbreaking research into foot and ankle injury and reconstruction, has authored more than 200 professional publications (including 5 textbooks), and is currently the editor of two orthopedic journals. Dr. Myerson is the immediate past President of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS). Dr. Myerson works in Baltimore, Maryland in the USA, and has together with Mercy Medical Center built a state-of-the-art facility where he and his expert staff are committed to providing patients with unparalleled care and clinical excellence. Dr. Myerson completed his internship and undergraduate degree in Cape Town, South Africa. He served as an Orthopedic Resident at Johns Hopkins Hospital and the University of Maryland, completed his Fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York, and served as the Director of Foot and Ankle Services at Union Memorial Hospital until 2001 when he moved his practice to Mercy Medical Center.
