This quick introduction describes the features and explains how to use each element of the 2016 MOC Spine 89-Day Study Plan, including:

The Study Plan Homepage
  • Accessing the Study Plan Homepage
    1. Go to your Groups page
    2. Click the Study Plan logo
  • Jumping to a daily study plan
    • Click a day on the calendar at the top of the homepage to jump to that day

A Typical Daily Study Plan
  • Each day you will review four topics and a journal abstract or article
    1. Topics
      • Follow the link from a study plan to a topic
      • Quickly read through the topic
      • Do all associated questions. Either:
        • click the question icons in the body of the review, or
        • read to the end and do the questions at the bottom
      • Return to study plan and go to next topic
    2. Journal Article
      • Follow the link from study plan to journal article and read the abstract or full text
      • Rate the article using the poll on the right

Exams
  • Taking an exam
    1. From the daily study plan, click the link to begin the exam
      • For CME credit, always take the Self Study version
      • Exams cannot be paused so be sure to allot enough time to finish before you begin any timed exam
      • Use the "Review and Submit" tab to see an overview of your answers, jump between questions, and submit the exam
    2. When finished, click "Submit" and your results will be tabulated
  • Reviewing exam results
    • After submitting an exam you will see the exam results page where you can see your total score, results by specialty, and results for individual questions
      • Click the "Review Answers" button at the top of the page or the question mark icon beside any question to re-enter the test
      • Once inside the test, click Preferred Response to view the correct answer and a discussion on the topic
        • For further review, click View Topic. When finished, use the back arrow in your internet browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.) to return to the test
  • Reviewing exam results at a later date
    1. Go to your Testmaster
    2. Find desired test
    3. Click "Performance"
    4. Review using the previously listed steps

CME
  1. Complete the Course Requirements
    • Complete both Self-Assessment Exams
    • Complete 6 of the remaining exams
    • View your exam progress in the Study Plan CME Tracker
  2. Complete CME Survey
  3. Download CME certificate
  4. Submit CME to the ABOS
    1. Go to www.ABOS.org and login
    2. Click "MOC"
    3. Click "Enter Credits"
    4. Enter credits and upload CME certificate that you have downloaded to your computer
      • Repeat the process using the same certificate to enter SAE
