Thigh fasciotomy - Compartment syndrome

Plays: 0

Video Description

This is a 24 years old patient with history of a traumatic fracture of his femur, he was transferred from another hospital and when he arrived to our hospital his distal pulses were almost gone, capillary filling very slow and lots of pain. We decided to perform a bilateral fasciotomy and the results were positive. you can observe how the intra-compartimental pressure push the muscles out the incisions. After 45 minutes the patient recovered his blood flow

1) Is this the incision you typically use for a fasciotomy of the thigh?
