This presentation is the second part of the topic on Acute Nerve Injury and Repair given for the 2012 Comprehensive Review of Neurosurgery video lectures. Specifically, this presentation reviews supercharge (reverse end-to-side) nerve transfers and available nerve transfers in the hand. Supercharge nerve transfers has been a recent development for improving recovery for 2nd/3rd degree nerve injuries without sacrificing the integrity of the target recipient nerve for reinnervation. Standard end-to-end nerve transfers are for complete 4th/5th degree nerve injuries and this presentation include discussion on motor and sensory nerve transfers in the hand.
